The tavern became a butcher shop.

№ 01 How it started
Tommy Conner and Phillip Decker still own and run Me's Burgers & Brews on Main Street — that isn't going anywhere. Phillip also ran the Old 97 Tavern in this very building. When the tavern closed, they saw what downtown Danville was missing — a real butcher counter — and swapped the bar top for a cold case.
The market soft-opened April 15, 2026 and cut the ribbon the week of May 22. Since then the routine hasn't changed: cut in the morning, slice at lunch, wrap for the road.
Tommy & Phillip — the two behind the counter№ 02 In their words
"We try to sell the best quality product that we can… We try to do as much in-house homemade stuff that we can, using fresh ingredients." — Tommy Conner, co-owner
"We are trying to become a local market so people in the area can stop by and get bread… lettuce, tomatoes, onions. We do homemade chicken salad, pimento cheese, things like that." — Phillip Decker, co-owner
№ 03 The shop today
Produce and local honey. House seasonings and steak rub. Farm-fresh eggs — chicken, quail, and duck — plus bread, hoop cheese, and sweet tea bottled under our own label. Beer, cider, seltzers, and wine too — we're ABC licensed on and off premise, with Red Oak, Bold Rock, and Down East on tap and Super Lyte, Surfside, and Cutwater in the cooler. Alpha-gal friendly, with gluten-free options — just ask the counter. A shop you can actually shop.
